DESCRIPTION:  \nThe 2018 WEBA AGM and Summer Gathering will be held on Monday 9th July. \nWe are grateful to Wotton Baptist Church for hosting us this year\, and providing a finger buffet from 6pm. \nThe AGM itself will begin at 7pm. \nEach member church should send at least one representative to the AGM\, and we ask that you register to say who is coming\, and who is the church’s voting representative. \nThis is helpful both from the point of view of voting\, and so that the church can cater appropriately. \nPlease register using this booking link. \nNo payment is required\, and there is no need to print a ticket. \nWEBox Appeal 2018\n \nFor the fourth year running we will be sending a small team with shoeboxes full of gifts for children in Albania this Christmas. The flatpack shoeboxes\, labels\, and leaflets\, will all be available at the AGM on the 9th July. If you would like to collect more than a handful of these\, please let us know at office@webassoc.org.uk\, so we can get an idea of how many to bring.

SUMMARY:GDPR Training - WEBA block booking opportunity
DESCRIPTION:Churches across the country are gradually becoming aware of what they need to do to prepare for the new General Data Protection Regulation which comes into force on the 25th May 2018.  We have now secured a block booking for WEBA churches at one of the last training seminars offered by ACAT\, the Association of Church Accountants and Treasurers. Instead of a maximum of £35\, members of WEBA churches can book a place through us for just £15. \nThe seminar is on Saturday 24th March at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Galmington\, Taunton\, TA1 4TP\, from 10am to 1:15pm. SUMMARY:Charitable Incorporated Organisation Training Event
DESCRIPTION:This event has been arranged jointly by the WEBA and the Baptist Union Legal and Operations team.\nThis is an opportunity to find out more about the new legal structure for charities known as the ‘Charitable Incorporated Organisation’ or CIO for short. It will be of interest to charity trustees who are considering the options for the legal structure of their church and also to those considering the CIO as an option for a community project such as a pre-school or coffee shop. \nThe day will include input from BUGB Legal Services Manager Caroline Sanderson and Jenny Smith from Anthony Collins LLP. Topics that will be covered include: \n\nBaptist church governance and charity registration\nWhy change your legal structure?\nThe difference between a charitable company and a CIO\nThe process of incorporation as a CIO.\n\nThere will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions! \nThis event is open to any interested Baptist church\, whether or not they are in membership with WEBA. SUMMARY:WEBA AGM and Summer Gathering
DESCRIPTION:This year’s AGM and Summer Gathering will be at Chipping Sodbury Baptist Church near Bristol on Monday 6th July.\nWe encourage at least one representative from each church to come along and take part in the process of governing and developing our network\, which is all about God’s mission in this part of England. This year\, we are hoping to provide cream teas and\, weather permitting\, the gardens at Chipping Sodbury in which to enjoy them. \n \nIn addition to hearing about some of the exciting things that are happening around our network\, we will have a reflection from Jenni Entrican\, current BUGB President and former minister of Jacob’s Well\, which began as a plant from Chipping Sodbury. \nWe will share tea and scones at 6pm\, and the main meeting will begin at 6:45pm\, hopefully giving most people time to get there. \nThe AGM and Summer Gathering is free to attend but we do need to know numbers for catering and the identity of church representatives.
