SUMMARY:National New Housing Conference
DESCRIPTION:National New Housing Conference\n28th April 2018 \nFinchampsted Baptist Church 10-4pm \nAll denominations and Christian traditions welcome \nIn these times of housing crisis in which building new homes has been defined as a government priority\, many cities\, towns and villages are experiencing growth through new housing. Our challenge as Christians is how we respond to these new communities with welcome and blessing. The New Housing Hub is a network that has been established to inspire\, resource and connect pioneers\, churches and individual Christians across the country and from all church traditions to respond to this challenge and engage with these new communities. This conference is an opportunity to gather together to learn from and with one another\, to be resourced and to build relationships\, particularly with those from similar contexts and geographic areas\, so that together we can make a difference and see God’s kingdom come in new communities across our nation. \nIf you are interested in exploring what it would look like to engage with new housing near you\, or if you are already committed to missionally engaging with new housing\, don’t miss out on this exciting conference! Come along and bring a team. \nHere’s the link with more info and to book your place. Baptists Together are very kindly facilitating the booking: \nhttps://www.baptist.org.uk/…/51…/Housing_Hub_Conference.aspx

SUMMARY:Forge England and Wales Bristol Launch Weekend
DESCRIPTION:We will launch the South West ‘hub’ for Forge Training\, delivered by ForMission Training\, on the weekend of the 15th – 17th April 2016.\nWe can now confirm that the cost will be just £495 for the year long course\, including training weekends and coaching\, or £850 for those wanting to gain academic credit. There are bursaries available to individuals from WEBA churches – contact alex@seventy-two.network to register your interest.\n \nWhat is Forge?\nFounded by Alan Hirsch and Michael Frost now delivered by ForMission Training\, Forge cultivates missional communities around the world by identifying\, developing\, and training missional leaders\, teams and practitioners. \nForge aims to mobilise ordinary people to become missional and thrive in whatever context they are called to. This may be in pioneering new things\, church planting\, working in and through an already existing church\, or serving in a local community\, professional or relational network. The Forge network is led by active missional practitioners who are able to offer significant experiential training in pioneering contexts. \nWhat are the key components?\nTraining: 9 days per year (usually 3 weekends) at training Centre across the UK\, participants learn about the Missional Church\, Missional Lifestyle and Missional Leadership from experienced trainers in practical ways. \nCoaching: Each participant receives 8 coaching sessions throughout the year\, by a trained coach to help them connect training with everyday living. \nPeer Group: Each participant joins a Peer Group that meets 6 times a year for learning\, support\, prayer\, reflection and encouragement. \nPlacement: Each Forge participant will explore new missional opportunities within an existing or new setting. This is where the training and coaching can be lived out practically. \nFormation: Each Forge participant will be encouraged to develop theologically and spiritually through the training and coaching\, ongoing reflections and social media that are designed to support life and missional formation. \n  \nWhat will it cost?\nThe Forge training course is offered in two ways: \n£850 for credit \nAcademic credit for Forge participants is offered in two ways. Firstly\, it is available to all students currently undertaking the BA (Hons)\, DipHE\, CertHE\, Foundation Degree and Top-up Hons courses in Theology and Mission at ForMission College. Forge is an elective module at level 5 and sits within the College’s situational ministry programme\, with a value of 30 credits. For other Forge participants seeking academic credit\, ForMission College is able to offer 30 credits through our accreditation of prior learning (APL) programme. These credits can be used to count towards further qualifications (up to and including any level 5 programme) taken at ForMission College. Where the learning outcomes of the Forge Programme fit with courses offered by other academic institutions\, they may also be able to offer APL credit. \n£495 for non credit \n  \nWho are we looking for?\nWe are looking for passionate people who are keen to mature as Christians exploring ways in which they can more fully engage in missional living. They must be open to learning\, growing\, working with others and willing to take risks and step out in an adventure with God. \nWhat do I get out of this?\nIn taking the Forge programme you will: \n  \n1) Build theological and biblical foundations of mission for life\n2) Develop skills and tools to discern your missional context\n3) Be coached in developing more effective contextual missional strategies\n4) Form missional habits and attitudes that revolutionise the way you see yourself and the world around you\n5) Discover your gifts\, passions and shape for missional leadership\n6) Be equipped with practical skills and tools to become more competent and effective in forming and developing missional communities\n7) Grow in your faith as you step into new missional adventures\n8) Join a new community with travelling companions that will support and encourage you\, as you learn to take risks for God and for the kingdom \n  \n \nBristol: Launch Weekend: April 15th-17th\, 2016\nFor more information contact: alex@seventy-two.network\nor visit formission.org.uk/trainings/forge
