SUMMARY:WEBA Ministers' Conference 2017
DESCRIPTION:  \nBookings for the  WEBA Ministers’ Conference 2017 are now closed and we are thrilled to say that all available rooms have now been taken. \nWe may be able to consider a late booking if you have been able to negotiate sharing a room or suite with another attendee. \nThe conference is an opportunity for those in pastoral leadership (ie the key leadership roles in our churches) to share spiritual refreshment\, biblical insight\, and theological stimulation while spending time with friends and colleagues. \nWe warmly welcome spouses of those serving in minstry roles\, retired ministers\, and other church staff members who wish to come along. This year we are particularly encouraging those serving as paid youth or children’s workers to join us at the conference. We are excited to welcome Jim Barker from the Church Mission Society and Ed Kaneen from South Wales Baptist College as our key speakers. \n \nSaunton Sands Hotel is a stunning venue for the Ministers Conference. All rooms are ensuite and the hotel overlooks the sea. There is a swimming pool\, spa and leisure club on site as well. \nIt is the responsibility and privilege of each church to pay the full costs for its minister to attend the conference\, and there should be no reason for anyone in pastoral leadership in a WEBA church not to be able to attend for financial reasons. If you have any queries about this\, please contact Nigel Coles. \n \n  \nA programme for the conference will sent to attendees soon.

SUMMARY:Forge England and Wales Bristol Launch Weekend
DESCRIPTION:We will launch the South West ‘hub’ for Forge Training\, delivered by ForMission Training\, on the weekend of the 15th – 17th April 2016.\nWe can now confirm that the cost will be just £495 for the year long course\, including training weekends and coaching\, or £850 for those wanting to gain academic credit. There are bursaries available to individuals from WEBA churches – contact alex@seventy-two.network to register your interest.\n \nWhat is Forge?\nFounded by Alan Hirsch and Michael Frost now delivered by ForMission Training\, Forge cultivates missional communities around the world by identifying\, developing\, and training missional leaders\, teams and practitioners. \nForge aims to mobilise ordinary people to become missional and thrive in whatever context they are called to. This may be in pioneering new things\, church planting\, working in and through an already existing church\, or serving in a local community\, professional or relational network. The Forge network is led by active missional practitioners who are able to offer significant experiential training in pioneering contexts. \nWhat are the key components?\nTraining: 9 days per year (usually 3 weekends) at training Centre across the UK\, participants learn about the Missional Church\, Missional Lifestyle and Missional Leadership from experienced trainers in practical ways. \nCoaching: Each participant receives 8 coaching sessions throughout the year\, by a trained coach to help them connect training with everyday living. \nPeer Group: Each participant joins a Peer Group that meets 6 times a year for learning\, support\, prayer\, reflection and encouragement. \nPlacement: Each Forge participant will explore new missional opportunities within an existing or new setting. This is where the training and coaching can be lived out practically. \nFormation: Each Forge participant will be encouraged to develop theologically and spiritually through the training and coaching\, ongoing reflections and social media that are designed to support life and missional formation. \n  \nWhat will it cost?\nThe Forge training course is offered in two ways: \n£850 for credit \nAcademic credit for Forge participants is offered in two ways. Firstly\, it is available to all students currently undertaking the BA (Hons)\, DipHE\, CertHE\, Foundation Degree and Top-up Hons courses in Theology and Mission at ForMission College. Forge is an elective module at level 5 and sits within the College’s situational ministry programme\, with a value of 30 credits. For other Forge participants seeking academic credit\, ForMission College is able to offer 30 credits through our accreditation of prior learning (APL) programme. These credits can be used to count towards further qualifications (up to and including any level 5 programme) taken at ForMission College. Where the learning outcomes of the Forge Programme fit with courses offered by other academic institutions\, they may also be able to offer APL credit. \n£495 for non credit \n  \nWho are we looking for?\nWe are looking for passionate people who are keen to mature as Christians exploring ways in which they can more fully engage in missional living. They must be open to learning\, growing\, working with others and willing to take risks and step out in an adventure with God. \nWhat do I get out of this?\nIn taking the Forge programme you will: \n  \n1) Build theological and biblical foundations of mission for life\n2) Develop skills and tools to discern your missional context\n3) Be coached in developing more effective contextual missional strategies\n4) Form missional habits and attitudes that revolutionise the way you see yourself and the world around you\n5) Discover your gifts\, passions and shape for missional leadership\n6) Be equipped with practical skills and tools to become more competent and effective in forming and developing missional communities\n7) Grow in your faith as you step into new missional adventures\n8) Join a new community with travelling companions that will support and encourage you\, as you learn to take risks for God and for the kingdom \n  \n \nBristol: Launch Weekend: April 15th-17th\, 2016\nFor more information contact: alex@seventy-two.network\nor visit formission.org.uk/trainings/forge

This is essentially a service\, so we’re not taking bookings\, but if you are bringing a group from your church and would like to let us know rough numbers\, that will be very helpful for us and for the host church. \n

SUMMARY:WEBA AGM and Summer Gathering
DESCRIPTION:This year’s AGM and Summer Gathering will be at Chipping Sodbury Baptist Church near Bristol on Monday 6th July.\nWe encourage at least one representative from each church to come along and take part in the process of governing and developing our network\, which is all about God’s mission in this part of England. This year\, we are hoping to provide cream teas and\, weather permitting\, the gardens at Chipping Sodbury in which to enjoy them. \n \nIn addition to hearing about some of the exciting things that are happening around our network\, we will have a reflection from Jenni Entrican\, current BUGB President and former minister of Jacob’s Well\, which began as a plant from Chipping Sodbury. \nWe will share tea and scones at 6pm\, and the main meeting will begin at 6:45pm\, hopefully giving most people time to get there. \nThe AGM and Summer Gathering is free to attend but we do need to know numbers for catering and the identity of church representatives. You can complete this information by clicking this link: \nhttps://webasummergathering.eventbrite.co.uk\nAlternatively\, contact the WEBA office and let us know who will be attending from your church\, and which person is the voting representative. \nCopies of the WEBA Annual Report and Accounts for 2014\, the AGM agenda\, and a letter of notice for the AGM have been sent to all churches by email or post\, but you can also download them here: \nWEBA AGM Notice 2015Download Now!306 Downloads\nWEBA AGM Agenda 2015Download Now!909 Downloads\nWEBA Annual Report and Accounts 2014Download Now!1338 Downloads

SUMMARY:Re-imagine
DESCRIPTION:Re-imagine … a new missional learning community especially for leadership teams across WEBA. \nWhy? \nTo enable any leadership team in one of our Baptist Churches to build momentum in the transition towards mission becoming the heart of all they are and no longer simply something they do. \nWho for? \nAny church who feels stuck\, or wants to build momentum towards the future God wants.\n\nWhen? \nWe will begin with a residential weekend\, open to 6 leadership teams with a maximum of 6 participants each. \nThis will take place at the Webbington Hotel near Axbridge in Somerset on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th March 2015. \n
