SUMMARY:WEBA Ministers' Conference 2018
DESCRIPTION:Each February WEBA Ministers (and others in church leadership including Children\, Families\, and Youth Workers) gather for three days of fellowship\, teaching\, and relaxation in glorious surroundings. For the third year we will be holding our Ministers’ Conference at Saunton Sands Hotel in North Devon from the 26th-28th February 2018. \nOur main speakers will be Krish Kandiah and Ruth Rice – further details about the programme will follow\, but for now we need to get the bookings process started. \n \nSaunton Sands Hotel are asking for final room numbers earlier than they have done in previous years\, which is why we set an early deadline of Friday 30th November. It may be possible to book extra rooms after this\, but there are no guarantees. Please contact the WEBA office if you missed the deadline. \nPrices \nSingle occupancy ensuite room £195 \nShared twin room  £165 \nShared suite (two rooms and a bathroom) £175 \nShared double room (total) £330 \nRetired Minister £160 \nOnline bookings have now closed. DESCRIPTION:This year’s Network Gatherings\, taking place during the 500th Anniversary of the Protestant Reformation\, will focus on transformation and the Word of God. \nWe hold four Network Gatherings so that everyone in our churches can get to one of them. SUMMARY:WEBA Ministers' Conference 2017
DESCRIPTION:  \nBookings for the  WEBA Ministers’ Conference 2017 are now closed and we are thrilled to say that all available rooms have now been taken. \nWe may be able to consider a late booking if you have been able to negotiate sharing a room or suite with another attendee. \nThe conference is an opportunity for those in pastoral leadership (ie the key leadership roles in our churches) to share spiritual refreshment\, biblical insight\, and theological stimulation while spending time with friends and colleagues. \nWe warmly welcome spouses of those serving in minstry roles\, retired ministers\, and other church staff members who wish to come along. This year we are particularly encouraging those serving as paid youth or children’s workers to join us at the conference. We are excited to welcome Jim Barker from the Church Mission Society and Ed Kaneen from South Wales Baptist College as our key speakers. \n \nSaunton Sands Hotel is a stunning venue for the Ministers Conference. All rooms are ensuite and the hotel overlooks the sea. There is a swimming pool\, spa and leisure club on site as well. \nIt is the responsibility and privilege of each church to pay the full costs for its minister to attend the conference\, and there should be no reason for anyone in pastoral leadership in a WEBA church not to be able to attend for financial reasons. DESCRIPTION:For the past three years we have combined the WEBA AGM with a chance to meet at one of our churches and share food together on a summer evening. \nThis year we are returning to Hanham Baptist Church in Bristol\, who provided an excellent BBQ for us three years ago\, and have promised to do the same again! \nClick here for details of Hanham Baptist Church (travelling directions at the bottom of the page) \nThe AGM will be at 7pm\, preceded by a BBQ in the church garden at 6pm\, weather permitting. \nEach church has a responsibility to send one voting representative to the Association AGM. DESCRIPTION:  \nThe 2016  Conference will take place from Monday 22nd to Wednesday 24th February\, and at a new venue – Saunton Sands Hotel in Braunton\, North Devon. Here’s a video to introduce you to the hotel: \n \nThis is a big change after several decades in Sidmouth\, but we are trying Saunton Sands on the recommendation of our brothers and sisters in the South West Baptist Association\, who made the same move a couple of years ago. \n“Saunton Sands Hotel provides a delightful venue for the SWBA Ministers’ Conference. The excellent food\, comfortable lounge/bar areas with lovely sea views provide a relaxing setting and the staff look after us very well. Highly recommended!” Kathryn Morgan\, retired minister\, SWBA. \n“Good surf (sometimes)\, great food (always)\, views to die for\, an extremely well stocked bar and luxurious armchairs to lounge in until the early hours of the morning catching up with friends.  These are just some of the attributes that have helped to make the last few SWBA ministers conferences the best we’ve had.  Well-chosen speakers and inspired worship has meant that body\, mind and soul have all been ministered too.” Malc Reddaway\, minister of Roselands Community Church\, SWBA \nOne of the things they’ve told us is that several of their pastoral leaders have been coming to the conference with their spouses – perhaps in part thanks to the wide range of hotel facilities which include a pool and golf course! DESCRIPTION:Following our Jesus at the Centre theme for network gatherings two years ago\, we are moving on to the next of WEBA’s Core Convictions: Discipleship at the Core.\nThe deepening and widening of discipleship is perhaps the primary challenge for the UK church today. We hope that all WEBA churches will make one of these gatherings a priority in 2016. \nFour Network Gatherings are planned for 2016 – in North Somerset\, Gloucestershire\, Bristol\, and Wiltshire. Please make sure that the most convenient one is in your church diary. \nWe are delighted to announce that the speaker at Worle Baptist Church\, on Sunday 31st January 2016\, will be Katharine Hill of Care for the Family.\nThe event will begin with refreshments at 6pm and include worship\, news from around WEBA\, and time for prayer in addition to Katharine’s take on our theme\, Discipleship at the Core. \nWe hope that churches in the North Somerset area who would normally hold an evening service on Sunday 31st January have been able to change their plans so that this can be a really effective gathering of our churches in that region. This is essentially a service\, so we’re not taking bookings\, but if you are bringing a group from your church and would like to let us know rough numbers\, that will be very helpful for us and for the host church. \n

SUMMARY:WEBA AGM and Summer Gathering
DESCRIPTION:This year’s AGM and Summer Gathering will be at Chipping Sodbury Baptist Church near Bristol on Monday 6th July.\nWe encourage at least one representative from each church to come along and take part in the process of governing and developing our network\, which is all about God’s mission in this part of England. This year\, we are hoping to provide cream teas and\, weather permitting\, the gardens at Chipping Sodbury in which to enjoy them. \n \nIn addition to hearing about some of the exciting things that are happening around our network\, we will have a reflection from Jenni Entrican\, current BUGB President and former minister of Jacob’s Well\, which began as a plant from Chipping Sodbury. \nWe will share tea and scones at 6pm\, and the main meeting will begin at 6:45pm\, hopefully giving most people time to get there. \nThe AGM and Summer Gathering is free to attend but we do need to know numbers for catering and the identity of church representatives.
