Charitable Incorporated Organisation Training Event
28th November 2019 @ 10:30 am - 3:30 pm
NOW FULLY BOOKED
28th November at Hanham Baptist Church
1030 – 1530 with coffee from 1000
Cost: £50 per person, including lunch
This event has been arranged jointly by the West of England Baptist Association (WEBA) and the Baptist Union Legal and Operations team.
There is parking at the rear of the church for approximately 20 cars. The nearest railway station is Keynsham.
This is an opportunity to explore in greater depth the legal structure for charities known as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation or CIO. It will be of interest to charity trustees who are assessing the risk profile of their church and considering a change to the legal structure of their church. It is also of relevance to those considering a CIO as an option for a separate project such as a pre-school or coffee shop.
The day will include input from BUGB Legal Services Manager Caroline Sanderson and Esther Campsall from Anthony Collins LLP. Topics that will be covered include:
- Baptist church governance and charity registration
- Why change your legal structure?
- The process of incorporation as a CIO.
There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions!
This event is open to any interested Baptist church, whether or not they are in membership with WEBA. The places are initially limited to two per church, but we will create a waiting list for additional places to be made available later if there are unfilled spaces.
Use this link to book your place.
Bookings close on 19 November 2019.
