The Eastern Baptist Association is seeking to appoint a dynamic, spirit filled person to serve as an apostolic leader.

As an Association we believe that building warm and positive relationships must underpin everything we seek to do.  We are therefore looking to appoint someone who is willing to be led by God, has the ability to build good relationships with individuals and groups of all ages and who would consider this to be a priority which underpins all other aspects of their work and ministry.

Our current strapline agreed in 2016 states that our aim is to be “Growing healthy churches in relationship for God’s mission within the East of England”.  Our aim has not changed but we recognise that the world around us has.

We are therefore seeking someone who perceives the changes that have happened, and continue to happen on many levels, in both societal, social, and church contexts; a person who is passionate about helping the association and its churches:

  • assess and process the change that has happened and is still happening in churches and in the secular world outside of church.
  • lead and manage the necessary transition needed so that churches can respond to these changes whilst remaining faithful to the gospel and able to continue growing healthy churches in relationship, for God’s mission in the East of England.

You must have an openness to working in new, creative, and innovative ways. Willing to love, encourage and care as well as to challenge and effectively stimulate and facilitate transition.

This is a full time paid role and involves strategic leadership across all aspects of the Association, with a commitment to taking forward and developing the current vision and direction of the Association.

The role also involves sharing in the collaborative leadership and discernment of Baptists Together and representing the Association at national gatherings.

We are looking for a gifted, Christ centred and focussed individual capable of supporting and encouraging our churches in healthy, mission focused, lifestyles. You will be an experienced leader with wisdom and understanding to nurture and support ministers and church leaders across our region.

We warmly welcome all expressions of interest.

Further details and an application pack are available on the EBA website www.easternbaptist.org.uk If you would like to discuss this role further then please contact Revd Beth Powney beth.powney@easternbaptist.org.uk or Revd Fiona Heddle moderator@easternbaptist.org.uk

The closing date for applications is 12pm 24 February 2023.

Interviews will be held on Friday 17 March.
